At a temple called the Sangen-in of Daitoku-ji, Tohaku Hasegawa drew scenes of his hometown on the fusuma room partitions which had paulownia tree patterns. Tohaku Hasegawa was said to be "the greatest artist in Japan" 400 years ago. He painted these fusuma paintings when he was 51. There are 32 of these paintings in Entoku-in Temple, including as the "Summer Paintings" and "Winter Paintings." The "paulownia tree" symbol is frequently used. This is the family crest of "Hideyoshi Toyotomi," and Tohaku would draw a landscape on these crests with resembling them to snow.
